Some people have days that are harder than other days. “I’m feeling blue” was a term used since before the 1930’s. Feeling blue sounds like something that you go through and then recover from quickly. However, millions of people suffer from depression for years. Living with this day in and day out can take its toll on the person and their loved ones. They realize that hours of depression turn into months and months turn into years. Watching life pass you by and knowing that you are missing out adds to the feeling of helplessness.
When you are experiencing any type or sort of depression you have no idea that you will join the “living” ever again. You marvel at those who’s lives were unscathed and moved about with their day. Yet, you feel trapped by this invisible thumb holding you down and keeping you from doing the things that you love.
Please, do not lose heart. Do not think you are alone. It is ok to be blue, it is OK to be depressed. Keep walking on the road to recovery, don’t give up. Do not settle in. Seek help, reach out, love when you can, live when you can.
