Anchor of L.O.V.E

This has been a tough week to find things to be good and wise. What with wars, bombings, beheadings, and persecutions, one would be hard press to see good when we listen to the news. Not to mention the suicide of a very funny man who brought so much laughter and joy to many. So where does one land when you learn of such evil and disappointment? I believe that depression and hopelessness can surely set when hearing of such horrible news if you do not have an anchor of love.

What does this Anchor of love look like?

For some it is a loved one who holds your hand when things go wrong.

A friend who will listen to your troubles.

The devotion of a spouse or significant other.

Praying to the Creator

Solitude and meditation

Reading words of wisdom

A long hug

An exchange of smiles with a stranger

The list can go on and on. Finding an anchor to hold you down and keep you from losing hope is a good find. Where or how do you cope with the troubles of this world? Please share below.

  1. Good words and brought these verses from Hebrews 6:18-20 to my mind: “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.” (New Living Translation)
