When times get tough we all want to quit. In one season of Dancing with the stars (a ballroom dance off show on tv with celebrities), I remember one of the professional dancers mention that the famous athletes did better with the stress and hard work of learning to dance, than non athletes. I believe he was noticing that athletes know when times get hard they must push back even harder. I wish I had this gene.
When times get hard, I tend to fold. But I am changing my stripes for guts and stamina! I have lived to see that many times the hardest part comes when you are about to get a huge breakthrough. Which makes sense, since the hardest part of climbing a hill is at the steepest part just before you get to the top. Everyone can start the climb, but not everyone gets to the top.
Hang in there.
This too shall pass.
“The difference in winning and losing is most often not quitting”
“Winners are not people who never fail, but people who never quit”
“Pain is temporary, Quitting is forever”
“A quitter never wins and a winner never quits”
So keep on keeping on. I am behind you. Look around and gain strength from someone who needs encouragement too. Link arms and help each other.
Share your story of a time when you wanted to quit, but you didn’t. What happened?
