Thankful People

 This hymn by Elvey & Alford says it all today.

Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
Come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.

November 16:  Friendships- I am so thankful for the friendships God has placed in my life. Some keep me grounded, others make me laugh until my belly aches, and others challenge me to be a better person.

November 17  My Church- I am thankful for the opportunity to love on newborn babies in the nursery. Thankful for those who love on young children and teach them to love as God loves.

November 18  My Dad- Thankful that my Dad is ok after a fall last week. He has a broken collar-bone and a very bruised knee but is doing well and his spirits are up.

November 19  Religious Freedoms- I am blessed to live in a country that allows me to worship my God and practice my religion freely. I pray for those who do not have these freedoms, like Pastor Saeed who is a prisoner in Iran.

November 20  Modern Medicine- So very thankful for meds that keep my annual fall allergies at bay so I can function.  And for Rx that keep others alive and with their families.

November 21 Serving– I am so thankful when given the opportunity to serve and give back to my community. This is a picture of a group of moms who blessed a family in the midst of a tragedy.  I am also thankful that our family serves at the Rescue Mission during the Thanksgiving holiday and we walk away being blessed by those in need.   We feed their bellies but they feed our souls.

November 22  Chocolate Yes, I said Chocolate.  I cannot live without it.  I guess I could but who would want to do that. If I ever have dessert, which is rare since I don’t have a sweet tooth(except for chocolate), then it has to be chocolate.  So there. I am thankful for chocolate.
